I’m sharing an important update from Circular Materials regarding the rollout of the new recycling carts for residents in the York Region N6 communities.
Web Form Now Available
Later today, Circular Materials will activate their online request form for residents who wish to exchange their standard 360-litre recycling cart for a smaller 240-litre option.

Key Details for Residents
- Biweekly Collection Begins: January 1, 2026
- Standard Cart Size: Each household will receive a 360-litre wheeled recycling cart to accommodate two weeks of recyclables and a broader list of accepted materials.
- Trial Period Recommended: Residents are encouraged (but not required) to use the standard cart for three biweekly pickup cycles before requesting a smaller size.
- One Exchange Per Address: Only one cart exchange is permitted per household.
