Ontario Supporting More Paid Internships for Postsecondary Students
The Ontario government is providing over $10 million to help Mitacs create 2,700 paid internships for postsecondary students, to support high-quality research in the province, while also getting students the skills they need to secure in-demand jobs after graduation.
This latest investment demonstrates Ontario’s commitment to experiential learning and recognizes its role in building a highly skilled workforce.
Through partnerships with Mitacs – an organization that fosters growth and innovation in Canada by solving business challenges with research solutions from academic institutions – the government is continuing to fund thousands of research internships for undergraduate and graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows.
Investing in skills training opportunities for students and recent graduates is part of the government’s plan to work for workers – supporting Ontario’s economic growth and positioning businesses and students for success.
