Ontario Celebrates the Third Annual Convenience Store Week
Our government is proud to support small businesses like convenience stores.
There are over 8,500 stores across the province. The 78,000 hard-working employees in the convenience store sector work around the clock to ensure shelves are stocked, and stores are clean and safe for Ontarians. Many of these stores are open seven days a week, 365 days a year.
Thanks to their efforts, neighbourhoods, including those in remote and rural communities, are able to access fresh food and daily necessities regardless of their schedules.
This Convenience Store Week, let’s celebrate the thousands of family-run convenience stores and all the hard-working employees in the industry, and show our appreciation for everything they do to serve our communities.
Equally important is the commitment of these small businesses to support their communities. During Convenience Store Week, stores across the province will be raising funds for Make-A-Wish Canada to help grant heartfelt wishes for children diagnosed with critical illnesses.
We encourage everyone to drop by their local convenience store to say thank you and their you part to support local.
