Ontario Adds Nearly 24,000 New Jobs in January

Last month, employment in Ontario increased by nearly 24,000 jobs, with 9,700 new jobs in the construction sector, leading the nation in job creation for January.

Since day one, our government has been working hard to create the conditions for jobs to grow.  Since 2018, we’ve added 700,000 good-paying jobs to our economy, strengthened our manufacturing communities and set a strong foundation for the future.

In January alone, six businesses announced $133 million in investments to expand operations and meet growing demands, creating 152 new, good-paying jobs in regions across the province.

Additionally, last month, Ontario delegations attended two successful trade missions promoting the province’s growing automotive, technology, life sciences, and manufacturing sectors in both the United States and Mexico.

No matter what the future may hold, Ontario will be ready with our plan to build a resilient economy and a strong Ontario.
