Non-Profit Appreciation Week in Newmarket-Aurora
Non-Profit Appreciation Week in Ontario 2023
This week is Non-Profit Appreciation Week in Ontario. I am writing to speak about planned activities and honouring non-profits during this week. It is a time to recognize the work done by Ontario’s 58,000 non-profit charities and non-profit organizations, who deliver programs and assistance the improve the quality of life for so many people in Ontario.
Recognizing the work non non-profits is important to MPP Dawn Gallagher Murphy because she sees the good work they do in our community. They provide services that range from mental health support to seniors’ services, homeless shelters, crisis lines, skills development, immigrant support, specialized help for children, and family support services to programs that promote arts and culture, environmental sustainability, and recreation.
MPP Gallagher Murphy had the honour of recognizing twenty-two non-profit organizations in Newmarket-Aurora at an incredible local event. Non-Profit Appreciation Week is part of Ontario law, from a legislative bill introduced by my colleague, MPP Daisy Wai. This week is about recognizing and celebrating the amazing contributions of our non-profit organizations. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
