New Canada/Ontario Health Care Agreement

Today’s new ten-year agreement will complement our ongoing work to ensure Ontarians have unparalleled access to convenient care in their communities, no matter where they live.

Under this agreement, Ontario will continue to implement Your Health: A Plan for Connected and Convenient Care to help more people connect to primary care, reduce backlogs for surgeries and wait times in emergency departments, and build a pipeline of health care talent for the future.

Mental health is also a central pillar of this important investment, with Ontario adding five new Youth Wellness Hubs to the 22 that have opened since 2020 and continuing to expand programs and services that will make it faster and easier for Ontarians to connect to much-needed mental health and addictions supports.

We look forward to continuing to work with our federal partners to ensure long-term stable funding to ensure Ontarians get the health care they need and deserve.
