2024 Pre-Budget Consultation – Listening to Our Community

It was great to have PA to the Ministry of Finance for a pivotal session of the Ontario pre-budget consultations, an event I had the honour of attending with fellow York Region colleagues. These consultations are a cornerstone of the Ontario government’s commitment to transparency and community engagement, providing a valuable platform for direct dialogue with the people we serve.

During the session, we had the privilege of listening to a diverse array of voices from our local community. Municipal leaders, business leaders, non-profit organizations, and representatives from health care providers came together to share their perspectives. Their insights highlighted opportunities for the governments consideration for how we can further build our great province together.

The feedback gathered from these consultations is crucial in shaping the government’s approach to addressing the needs of Ontarians. As we work towards preparing the 2024 budget, the contributions from our community will play a vital role in guiding decisions and policies. It’s through these collaborative efforts that we can ensure a future that meets and exceeds the expectations of constituents in Newmarket—Aurora and across Ontario.
