Learn and Stay Grant Applications are Now Open
Applications for the newly-expanded Learn and Stay Grant are now open. The grant supports postsecondary students who enrol in a priority program in a priority community and continue to work in that community after they graduate.
Eligible students who apply for the Learn and Stay Grant will receive full, upfront funding for tuition, books and other direct educational costs.
By providing targeted financial support that encourages students to learn and stay in priority regions, the Ontario government is helping communities get the workers they need for in-demand professions.
For the 2023-24 school year, the grant will be open to eligible students enrolling in their first year of a participating nursing, paramedic, or medical laboratory technologist/medical laboratory sciences program in northern, eastern, and southwestern Ontario.
Building up our health care capacity in areas where it’s needed the most is an important part of Ontario’s Plan for Connected and Convenient Care. Rural and northern communities have seen shortages and the government is working to ensure that they have the staff needed to be able to be responsive to the needs of patients and to our health care system.
