Increasing Ontario’s Minimum Wage

April 3, 2023

This government is working for workers by increasing the minimum wage to $16.55 an hour on October 1, 2023.

This 6.8 per cent pay raise for low-income workers builds on our government’s steady and predictable increases every year to help families offset the rising cost of living.

With this latest increase, Ontario’s minimum wage will be the highest of any province in the country.

This fair and balanced approach for both workers and businesses means that nearly a million workers will benefit from bigger paycheques this fall.

The government will continue working for workers and putting them in the driver’s seat of their careers and their lives.
