Expanding Markets for Ontario’s Agri-food Sector

Ensuring Ontario’s agri-food business has the means to support growth and entry into new markets entry is critical.

The governments of Canada and Ontario are investing up to $6 million through the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP) Grow Ontario Market Initiative to help producers, agri-food and beverage processing businesses and industry organizations expand markets for their products.

Sustainable CAP will help achieve the goals outlined in the Grow Ontario Strategy, which include increasing the production of food by 30 per cent, growing exports by 8 per cent annually and building and maintaining research infrastructure.

Under the Grow Ontario Market Initiative, applicants can receive 50 per cent cost share for eligible costs, to a maximum of $60,000 per business for producers and food processors, and $125,000 for industry organizations.
