Connecting Long-Term Care Residents to More Hours of Hands-on Care

Our government is making historic investments to fix long-term care, including hiring thousands of additional healthcare workers as we implement a nation-leading standard of four hours of care, per resident, per day by 2025.
To help meet that goal, we’re expanding LEAP LTC by investing $16.5 million to train up to 600 new personal support workers.
More personal support workers will help connect residents to more hours of hands-on direct care while also helping healthcare staff upskill their careers.
